Th400 valve body plate
On my 69 ss396 Camaro I had the transmission guy go through it but years ago I put a B&M shift kit into it which required changing the valve body plate. I didn't have the original plate I took out of it so he used one from his parts collection. Haven't driven the car yet. It might be just fine, but.
My question is, are there any identification markings on those valve body plates? Thank you, Joe |
Valve body Plate...
I spoke with my tranny guy today...he is familiar with the B/M plates and the oem ones as well. He said he would dig out a few originals and i will stop by and take a few photos. He said the one your shop used will likely be fine.

Thank you. That will help ease thoughts. Nothing about numbers or anything?

Th 400...
I asked about numbers/stampings...he couldn't recall. Maybe when I see them in person we will know more.

Thank you. I don't want to risk something happening to this transmission. It's the "born with" transmission from this this car...Joe

Th 400...
If you had the work done by a competent shop they should have tested the tranny to make sure it functioned properly before they gave it back to you/or installed it in the car. You could always double check with the shop to be sure it was 'tested'.
As soon as I have some photos I'll send them along. |

Do you still have the original assembly line TH400 fluid pan on it? |

Just wanted to ask as most don't stay with em this long and end up getting an OTC service replacement with the wording embossed in.
Same with the Vacuum Modulator,as most got replaced too. |
