1972 Chevelle black seat belt set

10 Attachment(s)
These are black seat belts out of a 1972 Chevelle, RPO AV3 (3 point). They are the small buckle design that was introduced in 1972. They will fit most GM A-body cars of the same year. This is an incomplete set with missing belts so what you see is what you get. These 1972 belts are hard to find due to them being a one year only item. The belts and stitching are in very good condition with all tags present. The chrome on the latches are in great shape. The retractors work as they should. Keep in mind that these came out of a 49 year old car and they do show signs of wear & tear. The plastic button retaining rings need replacing on all the buckles as they are cracked or missing. This is a common issue on this style buckle, especially considering their age. There is a repair kit available (search “the parts place seat belt repair kit”) which replaces the spring, tongue, button, emblem, and plastic ring. (SOLD)

Where did you find the repair kits sold?

I had Ssnake Oyl repair mine several years ago and you can tell they were repaired, the repair kits look like they might work better based on my results.

Sorry for the hi-jack.....GLWS

Hi Jake,

The Parts Place has a repair kit available for $29. It comes with everything needed to rebuild these buckles. Finding 1972 specific belts in good condition is the hard part, since swapping the buckle guts is fairly simple once you have the parts in hand.
