One Owner '65 Impala, #s 396/4-sp, Rough but Complete

Sad to see this one deteriorate, but the body still looks fairly solid, and the original engine is there. I think you'd be instantly underwater on any restoration, but if you're looking to get into an original 396/4-speed car cheap, this may be a good opportunity.

That paint is so faded, I was wondering if it was Iris Mist, until I read the ad.
Actually looks better than the '65 Chevelle.

I'd like to see clear pics of the cylinders and maybe know why it was disassembled.
I helped "restore" a '65 at work a few years ago. Quite a few 1 year only parts on this year Impala and rather hard to find.

Bill Pritchard....the shifter looks just like the one in the Chevelle...

Riding in the back seat of my cousin Ray's Impala as a kid while going on a camping trip with his trailer in tow. He was always showing off to me how powerful his car was. We were going up a long hill climb and he pulled out and blew right past the other cars in the slow lane. Back in the late 80's after he passed away, I picked up the car in SF to bring it home and detail it so the family could sell it. I just wish I could have afforded to buy it back then, great memories!

Bid to $6870 and didn't hit reserve.

Re-listed

Yup, relisted in the link below. Personally, I didn't think the $6870 was far from fair value.

My thought exactly...maybe $7,500. More detailed info about the included trans and the condition of the original block would help the price. A junk, original block, is meaningless...:rolleyes2:

Looks like the serious bidders from last time lost interest, as the bid is sitting at $3,100 with little more than a day left the second time around.
I wonder if the high bidder from last time will be getting contacted in a couple days ?:hmmm:

Yeah, when a car is on Ebay multiple times, you tend to see bidder fatigue....

scuncio 11-13-2021 08:42 PM

Here it is again, and bidding is only at $2500 and change....
