Interesting '63 Corvette Convertible Project

Looks like an original high horse power tachometer in this one. Cool color combo but absolutely baked by the AZ sun and looks as though it will need everything.

It's interesting that the seller notes there are rust issues in the rear of the frame - the car must have spent some time outside of the southwest early in its life. I can't exactly see from the pics shown where the rust areas are. Is it common that the frames need attention in the rear trailing arm area?

----Normally in 63 Corvettes the plate at the end of the frame rail in front of the tire in the above pic is the 1st thing to go. That plate has another plate just forward of it that has a weep hole at the bottom. The plate you see has no weep hole and when the frame gets coated that app 3 inch area gets no coating inside and no way for dirt and debris to get out. GM put weep holes in later (don't know the app date) and that helped but did not totally cure the problem as then water and dirt thrown off the rear tire could get thru the hole and stay there!
