70 Acadian nova value?
 

New one for me here. How rare is a numbers matching Acadian 70 nova 4 speed car restored worth? I have never seen one in person but have pictures that was sent to me. I will post some photos to. Everyone have an awesome Christmas and new Years

Sean, not as much as you would think. In the '68 and later body style these were just plain jane low performance Novas with Acadian parts. Probably be a 300Hp 350 as I think that was the top engine for them. No SD option in that body styles like the earlier Chevy II bodys and no preformance stuff like a L79 as the top engine an early Acadian came with.

So they would put this at about 85% the value of a similar non SS 1970 Nova. Reson being is there isn't much of a following and the Acadian only stuff is very hard to find, like emblems and even interior materials.

So if a 70 SS 350 is 35/40 range, a non SS is what 25/30 ish, say around 25 for an Acadian.

They are worth a bit more to a Pontiac guy up here than to many in the US. Some guys up here have access to the more unique trim parts used on these cars. Other guys want them just because many of the cars were used to haul Reindeer, and some were used to haul bootlegged Maple Syrup from Quebec to NY.

By 1970, Acadians, with the exception of name and badging, were almost identical to Novas. Drivelines were the same, as were interiors and they even had the super sport name. There were no big block Acadians and the last L79 was in 1966 models built in Canada. Acadian and Nova production went to Willow Run in 1968 and the cars were exported for new sale in Canada. 1971 was the last year of Acadian production.

As mentioned, Acadians don't have a big following in the U.S., but there are some great restored examples in Canada where they generally follow the value guidelines of Novas. Even
though they were built in the U.S., GM Canada documentation is available for them through
Vintage Vehicle Services Inc.

Great info Jay. There was a real nice 70 SS Acadian (Red) that was seen for sale in BC about 2 years ago. If I have the details right it was in around Langley perhaps? It was a bargain price on a beautifully restored car that many here were considering when someone posted a link. I recall it was priced far below that of a Nova's value at the time.

DIDN'T KNOW that the '70's could be had in a SS version? I find that strange when the earlier models were SD models? So what years were the Acadians available with the SS NOT SD option Bob?

The last Sport Deluxe models were 1967. When Acadian production moved to the U.S. in 1968, they took on the Super Sport designation and that continued through the end of Acadian production in 1971.

Yes, Acadians never went beyond the SS350. No big blocks. Even though there were over 1200 L79 Novas built in 1968, Acadians never got in on that, either.
