I can watch “In the Heat of the Night” every time it comes on. What he brings to Tibbs’ character in that movie, in 1967!, is just mesmerizing. I could watch him and Rod Steiger slowly unpeel their respective characters for hours.

Mr.Poitier definitely paved the way for a lot of black actors and was front and center in the Civil Rights marches.RIP sir.
