Dash cam recommendations

Somewhat unrelated to what we do here but based on the membership and the helpfulness I am hoping to get an answer. I am looking for a good quality dash cam ($100-150) with a front and rear camera, good resolution, night vision, etc. I have spent literally hours on the net reading about each camera then only to read the reviews and most had a high percentage of poor reviews (5-10%) which scared me away from them. I have about given up so I thought I would reach out to the members here to see what you guys can recommend from your own personal experiences. I am not afraid to make $150 mistake but need 3 to 4 cameras so I don't want to make a $450 to $600 mistake. What can you guys suggest?

Man, I hear ya on reviews. Every time I look for a product and read the reviews, it's like WTHeck is the truth ? I bought a dash cam 2 years ago and have never used it. I, actually, forgot I had it until just now.
Maybe buy only 1 and see if it is all you want. What scares me is all the info it gathers about the vehicle it is in too and could be used against me in a crash. It is a Toguard, CE52G 4k ultra hd with only forward view, but had about the best reviews, at the time. It has a parking meter, 170° view and gps logger.
Good Luck with your search.

My $89 (COSTCO) Cobra CDR 840 took a dump and It was not capturing for who knows how many months, (*Product Failure NO data saved) which gave me a false sense of security. Check you units performance often. I am now shopping also. The Really obscure units have support that really leaves one Head scratching for Manuals and support. I will likely go Cobra again.

I've been trying to buy one for years, but I can't make a decision on which one.

And they change every year so you have to start from square one every year. Ask me how I know.

We bought a cheap one from Amazon in February of 2020 (that they don't sell anymore) but it's worked really well. I just take the front facing camera out when it gets really hot during the summers here-and put it back in when I drive. I leave the rear facing ones alone.

They sent me for free an additional hook up so that I could move the front facing camera between vehicles. The additional hook up they sent had the rear facing camera too!

This is what we bought:

APEMAN 1440P&1080P Dual Dash Cam, 1520P max, Front and Rear Camera for
Cars with 3 Inch IPS Screen, Support 128GB, Driving Recorder with IR Sensor Night Vision, Motion Detection, Parking Monitor
