1967 Corvette Roadster 327-300hp

While I patiently wait for the Nova to arrive, I'm staying busy in the shop with a couple of other irons in the fire.

One being this 67 roadster I just bought. Nice all born with numbers car, Goodwood Green with a black and white interior. M20 wide ratio 4 speed, 3.36 posi diff. 2 tops, AM/FM, P/S, P/B and telescopic wheel. The car originally came from West Virginia (as documented by it's POP). The car is reported to be a legit 20k mile car. The car retains it's original riveted ball joints and factory installed idler arm. It still retains all 5 original DC wheels.

There are some items I'll leave as is, others I'll get closer to stock. This is as I picked the car up......

My goal with this car is to offer up a REALLY nice driver that has good colors, good numbers, and good value. This should make the new owner proud at a local car show, or just cruising around. The sidepipes were reportedly added by the original owner (who was the son of the Chevrolet dealer). More on that later.

Here are some of the numbers on the car. I'm assuming the intake and carb were purchased during the restoration, as the dates are a bigger spread than normally found on something like a base motor car.

More to come........

The car has stainless calipers on it and all looked to be good. So, flush the brake fluid. Old fashion gravity bleed is in order here......

Ball joints as mentioned......

The clock was inop, so I pulled that to send it out.

Then my usual dive into the gauge cluster. Most every one of these car responds well to pulling the cluster, and cleaning the gauge faces along with the lenses.Soooooo......
this is how I go about that......

Pull the steering column and the drivers seat......

Suit up with the necessary equipment and tools......

Lay my fat ass in there and disconnect everything to pull the cluster. You can see the lenses are not that clear in these pics. I'll get everything cleaned up and reassembled. Quite honestly, it takes me about an hour to pull the column, seat, and cluster (assuming everything comes apart nicely. I'll rebulb everything and test the gauges for accuracy.

Added to the 67, I bought this 249 mile 30th anny Trans Am from it's original owner (about an hour north of me). I just love these cars.......

Great looking Vette. I'm sure it will be even better when you're finished with it.

Thank you. These are the type of cars and processes I enjoy the most. Yes, I'll post it up here before marketing the car.

Tim...I am getting the feeling that you derive some masochistic pleasure from pulling the dashes on these cars??? :eek2:

Another fantastic find, and it will be a much improved car with your applied TLC!
