Goodyear tire date code

235 60 R15 tire

I am GUESSING it is OLDER than 2000.

Has an eleven digit code. On tires since 2000, the last four are the date code.

These tires only have 3 digits in the last spot.

Can anyone tell me the dates of these tires?

Think I just answered my own question.

304 would be 30th week of 1995 or 1985 or 1975.

Minimum 30 years old. Guess I won't be driving on these!!!!

Hmmm - I have 5 of these. Any idea what dates they are?

Bruce;

Looks like a three digit code, meaning before 2000.

I would say 8th week of 93, or 83 or 73.

Source: https://www.goodyear.com/en_US/learn...date-code.html

From that article: If your tires were made before the year 2000, the date code will be only 3 digits – the first two digits again listing the week of the year, and the last digit being the last digit of the year of the tire’s manufacture. This means a date code of “529” could mean the tire was manufactured in December 1999, or December 1989 – or even December 1979.

So - set of 5 F70-14s. Made in USA with that date code. Goodyear white letter. Any value?

Hopefully someone more knowledgeable than I am will chime in.

Are they take offs? Are they reproduction? I don't know enough to tell you.

Isn't that the size that cam on 69 Camaro SS and Chevelle SS as well as several others?

You wouldn't want to drive on them, obviously.

If they look exactly the same as an F70-14 that came on a car from that era, I would think there would be value to someone showing a restored car.

F70 14 Goodyear Wide Tread GT white letter is $415 a tire now for a reproduction.

Polyglas in that size is "available" for under $300. I say that in quotes, as the two sources I found said they were on back order.

Spare tires saved one at a time over the years. All have like new tread. Hold air.

Definitely some value there.

Weren't there some early 70's muscle using that tire?

I know there were a TON of them put on muscle as soon as the factory tires wore out.
