Re: Atlantic City Auction
I was surprised to see some high prices for cars that did not sell (I guess the reserves were not met). For example, there was a 1971 Nova SS (clone) that had a high bid of $6750 that did not sell!!
There was some cool cars there, like a Cosworth Vega with 42 miles and a '68 Shelby GT500 with less than 75 miles ($68k). MikeA [Edited by MikeA (02-12-2001 at 07:07 AM).] |
Re: Atlantic City Auction
CONGRATS on selling that 67 rs/ss Camaro. That car was AWESOME https://www.yenko.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/smile.gif Now all you need is that L-78/L-89 Camaro that you are looking for, so you can fill up that empty side of the garage. https://www.yenko.net/ubb/smilies/burnout.gif

Re: Atlantic City Auction
Too bad that Cosworth was sitting on a concrete floor and got surface rust on the underside of it.
It was at R-M in MI, right next to the Yenko Nova (silver?) with the wrong drivetrain. Someone posted a pic of the Nova in the showroom and I think you can see the Vega. Seems like it is doing the national auction tour. https://www.yenko.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/smile.gif |
Re: Atlantic City Auction
That Cosworth sold for $9500 I hear, not worth it at all from the pictures I have seen. A 20 mile CV sold a while back in much better condition for a lot less money. There appears to be some question to it's legitimacy as well, as far as the milege goes. But the new owner swears he made a killer buy on it, and will make a profit as well, but at the same time does not care about the history or anything about the car itself. Just another dealer trying to get rich and retire. Maybe he owns a "Yanko" too... who knows?

CamarosRus
The auction was run by Kruse International. Go to the following link for info on the AC Auto: www.acclassiccars.com/auction.htm This link shows a list of cars, etc. MikeA [Edited by MikeA (02-15-2001 at 07:24 AM).] |
Re: Atlantic City Auction
Chuck, was the 70 camaro you heard about at Atlantic City a mulsanne blue car? Ken

Re: Atlantic City Auction
I just read (Friday P.M) the last several posts and have not checked the Kruse inventory etc.......but yesterday did talk to someone who was there and he alledged that the Mulsanne blue 70 Camaro was a L-34 car (402/350hp 1800 produced)....and at $22K unless it was impecable I personally wouldnt want the car. Even though its not a "Supercar" someday I will wind up with one of the 600 L-78 70's made (ALL 4-speed). There is such a non-exsistant market in the turnkey Quality 70 L-78 Camaros, I dont think anybody can honestly establish a fair value for these overlooked musclecars.....regards, chuck
