I don't know how many of your members follow
the different street car series races, but I
thought I would let you know that for 2001
I have finished second in points in the
nostalgia muscle car class.
I ran a 64 Plymouth Fury Max Wedge Clone,
ran J/NMC which is 12.25 et, came up
10 point's short of being 2001 world champ.
My daughter ran our 69 Road Runner 440 6BBL
car in I/NMC which is 12.00 class, but she
never lifts and broke out with an 11.67.
I was just glad she got to go. It is an
8 race series that had stops in Ga, Ms,
Il, Wi, Mi, Md, Ont Can, and Finals in
Columbus Ohio. I hope this isn't an
inappropriate thing to post on this site, I
just wanted to share my good fortune.

Congrats Larry. I used to race in the Factory Stock class until they canned it this year. Too bad, we had a lot of fun.

Nice going! Its great that you get out and race whatever brand you run! I wont complain as I am a Mopar guy who likes em all and enjoys talking over here with the GM guys as they have some real nice cars! I have seen Petes great collection of cars and Robs Yenko in magazines and I was hoping to go to one of the Pure Stock races next year and see some of these fine cars up close and meet some of these great muscle car people and even cash in on a beer with Pete so I hope these races dont fall apart with the cancelling of MCR as I am still pissed about that because it was the only mag where you could see all brands of muscle cars and they did a good job of getting some in every issue not to mention the coverage of the Pure Stock races! Dont mean to get of track here so once again I say "Congrats"for a good job to you and your daughter! Ron

Congrats, Larry! Can blame your daughter for not lifting...kind of funny how sometimes you can win a race by going slower!

I, like Pete, was looking forward to running the NSCA Factory Stock series this year, but it got axed https://www.yenko.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/frown.gif. It would've been neat to bolt on a set of drag radials and see what the Camaro could do on a real set of tires. Oh well...

Thank's guys. I had a great time traveling
all over and doing a lot of racing, I put
10,000 miles on my truck towing to all these
races. I always wanted to be a local track
champion, but I can see now how winning that
is not the same as having to race on a
different track each race. There were some
really great car's at these races. Two of
my favorites were 2 guy's from South Carolina
Tim Clark and Ted Carter, Tim has a beautiful
67 Chevelle with a 427 that run's 11.25 on
dot mickey's, and Ted has a 69 Garnet red
SS 396 Chevelle that run's 11.75, Tim wound
up in 8th place this year. Jerry Glanville
the ex football coach even showed up with
a 76 torino powered by a nascar truck motor
ran 10.75. The variety of cars is great. I
was also sorry to see the Factory Stock class
go away, They ran in Bowling Green last year
and put on a great show. By the way Pete
were you there? I am happy to have the 2
on my car for next year but that big #1
would have been much better.

The real story on my daughter is that I was
number 9 qualifer and she was number 20
and using the sportsman ladder like NSCA
does I had her in the first round. Since
this was her first race in NSCA she took
one for the old man to make sure I got to the
second round. she redlighted and broke out
makes a man proud to have a kid like that
(pun intended).
