68 396 Camaro key buzzer
 

Need some info on my buddies 68 Camaro. It has a dash mounted ign switch and I need to know if it had a key buzzer option? I ask because the horn relay buzzes under the hood like I remember the cars in the 70,s had with sterring column mounted ign switches only his is buzzing even without the key in the ing when the door is open and I did not think it even had the option which makes me think it has a ground problem since the dome lite is not working either! Any help would be appreciated. Thanks , Ron

Ron,there must be a short somewhere.The 68 will only buzz (at the 862 horn relay) with the key left in the ignition and the door open.It wasn't a option just a std. feature on all 68 GM cars.Hope this helps!

Thanks Steve as I appreciate the help because I did not know the 68 had the key buzzer. Now I need to find a wiring diagram for the 68 Camaro! Ron
