Re: vettefest

I just today sent my applications in for my three cars. Their is not going to be any sort of showcase this year. Who else is going to Vettefest in November?

Frank,
I pre-registered one car. Should be interesting, the drive train and interior are not in the car yet. If everything goes right, I'll see you there.

This year I don't think anything special is going on this fall at Vettefest. I don't think they can ever top the year that Gary Holub invited all the Super Cars for a display (I brought my ZL-1). It was like a Mini-Reunion!! All our cars were together in our own section. I'll probably go but I'm not bringing a car. It's a nice set-up as the hotel is right there and you can walk indoors to the show.

Re: vettefest

When I was looking at all of my Vettefest paperwork today I came across all of my stuff from the 4 years previous to this one that I had showed my cars at and I came across the Top Gun Showcase story in the Vettefest program guide and read the story about Gary Holub and his collection. I was not a member in 2000 but wish I was. It was cool to read this story 2 years later and have an idea about who I was reading about. I met a lot of you and didn't realize it. A couple of key people were Ray Morrison who was such a gentleman and probably has one of the best supercar stories and Gary himself who was kind enough to show me his 287 mile black COPO and spend a lot of time talking with me. I also had the privilege to meet Joe Sweezy last year and take a really close look at his 68 Harrel Chevelle. What an unbelieveable car and a cool guy. The funny thing is untill this year I had never even heard of this site and my understanding of supercars was limited but I had already met a few of you. This is a great show and a must attend for your list of shows. Like I said before this hobby as a whole (cars) and the world is a small place!
