CU tag on Master cylinder
OK buds, this is a question from a dummazzneophite. On my z-28 their is a hang-tag off white (yellowish) in color with the letters CU hanging from the front master cylinder hold down wire....cool....but on my big block (YENKO) it is on the fitting between the power break hose and the intake manifold. Are both correct, neither or what? Not that I really give a RATS ( BIG BLOCK) AZZZZZ as I really enjoy both cars and THAT is what counts....... TO ME anyway.(BOTH 69 CAMARO BTW) Thank you in advance Peter (USA)

Re: CU tag on Master cylinder
The only place I have ever seen this tag on unrestored cars is between the power booster check valve and the hose at the booster...BKH

Re: CU tag on Master cylinder
As described by Brian above, that was the location of the CU tag on my '69 Z/28.

Re: CU tag on Master cylinder
On the COPO Novas we have seen the CH hang tag on the brake booster check valve, and, a small decal on the m/c bail wire.

Re: CU tag on Master cylinder
Thank you all the CU hang tag fit like a glove on the check valve and even had a smudge from the hose so I put it back their. How it got on the m/c????? Any guess as to what CU and CH means?

Re: CU tag on Master cylinder
The CU tag is the plant code used to identify the J52 assembly to the person installing it on the car during production. This code is located in Block 56 of the Body Broadcast Sheet. It should also be listed on the Chassis Broadcast Sheet. Greg

Re: CU tag on Master cylinder
Marlin,
On the CH tag. When you have seen both tags, was the tag on the master cylinder bail CH or a different code? Thanks, Greg |
