I think the total Beger SS production was 100 with Jim Parks getting # 100.

Thanks Charley, I was wondering about breakdown between years, ie-how many in '00, '01, and '02. I'm pretty sure Dennis Barker's is prototype #1 and is a '99.
Thanks

Re: '00, '01, '02 Bergers..

According to the April 02 Super Chevy Mag

100 total
43 for 02
27 for 01
30 for 00

The prototype 99 is not included in these numbers.

Hope this helps. The mag has an article with a 02 Berger SS #3. It is a beautiful white/red ttop edition.

If its an '02 and number 3, I assume its prototype #3 because #3 would be an '00, correct?

Thanks-

Good ? I assumed it was an 02 model. I am not sure how they were #. Someone on this board has a Berger maybe he could be of some help.

As for the one in the article, it has the 02 Fiske wheels on it, but does not have the billet front that they are supposed to have. What they propably did is put the Fiske wheels on the #3 car of 00 for the article.

This is all a guess, except what is actually visible in the picture.

Re: '00, '01, '02 Bergers..

I have a Berger....#56 '01 Phase II 435hp..arctic white/blk. stripe.
I just couldn't remember how many were done in each year. The one in the magazine is pr#3 and is an '02, its the '02 model that Berger used to debut in late '01. The difference each year is as follows:
All cars are 6 speeds with t-tops or convertable (not sure how many of each)

In '00--375hp-- 4 colors were used with standard stripe combinations, ie..a white car had black stripes, red cars had black stripes, blue/white stripes, black/red stripes, wheels were chromed 10 spoke factory.
In '01--380hp-- color/stripe choices were the same as '00...white/blk. stripe, blue/white stripe, black/red stripe, red/black stripe, chrome 5 spoke(split)Mallet 396 wheels.
In '02--380hp--any factory SS color/stripe combo was available this year with the option to have the car painted your color choice($$), interior options were available this year as well($$), Fiske FM5 wheels in '02.

The idea is the wheels are to be the main difference from year to year.

Re: '00, '01, '02 Bergers..

Clint you were the one I was thinking of. Now why would they make a prototype in a car that didn't change except for the wheels?

So were there 1 prototype per year or 3 prototypes in 02?

Re: '00, '01, '02 Bergers..

We built 3 Prototypes, 1 '00, 1 '01, & 1 '02. We wanted to build a prototype for each year with the changes we did each year. The changes being mainly the wheels but also an emblem change between '01 & '02 also along with powder coated calipers. We needed to build a car each year for the shows also so people did not look at the same thing for 3 years running. We also went to BF Goodrich g-Force KDW tires in '02. We were always looking for small additions to change the car but not drastically.
The #'s you have for the years are right but we did build 3 hardtops in the '02 model year.
6 convertibles in '00
2 convertibles in '01
14 (I believe) convertibles in '02 I do not have my records here at home.
