ZL1 tachs
Six of the 69 ZL1's had factory tachs in them.
Since the cars had the mechanical tach drive distributors in them, how did the factory hook up the tachs?? Were they standard production tachs? |
Re: ZL1 tachs
Kurt,
I thought that the ZL1s with the Transistorized Ignitions did not have a tac drive which is what makes them unique to the ZL1s |
Re: ZL1 tachs
ZL1s so equipped used the standard 6000/7000 rpm electric tach. The K66 distributor was the same as Corvette; the mechanical tach drive was plugged with a plastic cap.

Re: ZL1 tachs
What is the redline on a ZL1 tach???
Anyone know???? |
Re: ZL1 tachs
L78 & L72 tach equipped cars use 7 grand tachs w/a 6 grand redline. Bill's post above indicates the same tach was used for ZL1's.

Thanks Bill. Kinda knew you'd know.
I thought there were issues driving a factory tach off of a transistorized ignition system? I heard S-W had to use an adaptor to drive their tachs on a TI system. |
