Re: insurance

We switched to Hagerty, agreed value policy, 0 deductible and you buy only one liability policy. When we bought the truck at Barrett Jackson Hagerty rep looked at it, wrote the policy $6 per $1000 and we were done. I guess you really don't know how good insurance is unless you have to use it, which I hope never happens. Thus far I have been very impresssed with their responsiveness and professionalism. We have 4 cars insured with them now. Jim

Re: insurance

I also use State Farm, but I'm gonna switch to Hagerty or Grundys. State Farm would not do an agreed value thus at this point I am under insured as for as relacement value goes. I have heard good things about both but do not know of anyone who has had to file a claim.

Re: insurance

Great post, Question I called Hagerty but I think what stopped me from useing them was the car could only be driven like 50 or 150 miles a year?, I may be wrong but there was something that was screwy if a fella wanted to drive his car much in the Summer, It has been two years since that conversation with them, How does it really work?

I ended up going with allstate, which is who caries all the other stuff for the household and had the car appraised for value, it is Ins for 6 months then sits in the garage it is up to me when i start the policy each spring, Like the guy says hope we never have to try and do a claim, we all have had to do that at one time or another and we usualyy get scr wed in the process, The one thing I remember about Hagerty was they said tell me what your car is worth and you will be paid that period if there is a loss!, and that was without a appraisel.

Re: insurance

My understanding from Hagerty is that the car has to be in a secured location, you must have another car for transportation and occasional use for pleasure is OK. When I pressed for an approximation of miles that would be considered OK per year I was told 2500 or so. I also asked about temporary storage in a trailer and was assured that was OK also. I would be interested to hear the answer you would receive now by asking that question. Their 800 number has always been helpful in answering concerns. Anybody ever had a claim?? Re: insurance

I had a claim with Hagerty last year when a box flipped over and hit the front fender, called them up told them what happen they said get an estatment ,I did and had a check to me and the shop in about a week or two.

they never once gave me the feeling that I was in the wrong for making a claim they said "things happen and that what we're here for"
I highly recommand them!

I am an insurance broker by trade, do quite a bit of collector car insurance, Haggerty is a quality company, use them all the time, although I understand that Grundy is now selling polices with no mileage limitations, here's a couple of tidbits; Haggerty writes liability for car clubs very cheap. People that have late model sports cars ie: Porsche's and other exotics, can purchase the same agreed value, limited mileage policies as thier vintage cars, if you can stand the limited use and mileage, you can save a ton of money versus having the cars on your everyday personal auto policy. If anyone has any further insurance questions, give me a shout. Sully
