interesting Chevy BB alu intake manifold
 

Looking for information on this intake manifold and cannot find the number. It has a date code 9-27-65 and has open plenum that looks like it was cast not milled. Cast no. 3878299 and H. YUNICK stamped on it. Smokey Yunick's first name was Henry. Can this be some type of early prototype L88 intake or?

Others have spoken of big block intakes with oil splash shields. Our '69 aluminum intakes certainly don't have separate splash shields. The shield is a cast part of the intake. I have a cast iron big block intake and it has the separate splash shield riveted on.
