COPO ZL1 EBAY

Re: COPO ZL1 EBAY
One very sharp looking vehicle and one i would love to have, to bad its not a real ZL1 esp at that price.
[ QUOTE ] What you are bidding on is an exact copy of a ZL1 COPO with a date coded correct REAL 1969 ZL1 BLOCK that has been placed in a 1969 Camaro Coupe. This car has been done to the exact specifications of the special order 1969 COPO ZL1 Camaro. [/ QUOTE ] |
Re: COPO ZL1 EBAY
Looks like they really want to move it. There was a brief discussion last week...
ZL1 "Tribute" Car on CollectorCarTraderOnline I would expect a mostly NOS ZL-1 engine to cost $25-$35k (Heartbeat City) plus a cleaned up big block car $30-$35K = $55-$70K. Where's the other $15-$30K come from? That's a lot of factory inspection markings... And that assumes it was a 396 car to start with -- no trim tag info... |
Re: COPO ZL1 EBAY
I did get the fact that it was a clone!
If i was to spend that kind of money, iŽd buy a 9561 car that was for real! But i can imagine that the car probably cost much in parts ....., if all the parts are the real thing. NEW |
Re: COPO ZL1 EBAY
I also think they started with a small block car. Notice the BX leaf spring tags...

Re: COPO ZL1 EBAY
Does the car still have the trim tag? If not, that sure is a waste of a perfectly good ZL1.

Re: COPO ZL1 EBAY
It is a fake car. I have found the reading is the key to everything.

Re: COPO ZL1 EBAY
I think the fakeness is pretty clear and well disclosed. I guess what I'm interested in finding out is, based on it probably being a small block car to start with, does anyone think it's worth $80000+? You could of bought Clint's disassembled RS COPO and stuck a ZL-1 in it for about the same money... Come to think of it, why didn't I do that?

Re: COPO ZL1 EBAY
If the engine is a "real" COPO engine maybe it should hold more value than a "home-made or crate" 427 car. But then again, a # matching car is worth more than a hot rod. If someone who is a true collector or a real enthused hobbiest, why on earth would they by a car that someone built in their garage? There have been several oppertunities (on this board alone) to purchase REAL COPO cars. My opinion.
