Vista Wax ad with Yenko driver
 

Does anybody know who the driver is with the Yenko crest arm patch on his jacket? This ad is in Hot Rod June 1970. Is that a Vega that he is sitting on?

That is not Sterling Moss. Sterling wishes he had that much hair. He was basically bald, especially by 1970. He was a great Formula 1 and sports car driver back in the 1950s and into the early '60s. He was a PR spokesperson for the Can-Am back around this time and J-Wax was the sponsor for the Can-Am. This ad for Vista wax is just a little play on words by saying it shines like sterling. By the way, whoever the guy is, it looks like he is leaning on the hood of a '70 Torino, not a Vega.

maybe it's Sterling Yenko, Don's 3rd cousin twice removed. You know, the one of Torino/SC fame. [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif[/img]
