1967 RS question

I know a gentlemen who got a 1967 RS recently and he asked me to help him decode it so after lots of research I found out the car was an originaly a RS with a Z28 package with a 302 engine in Tahoe Turquiose. The gentlemen offered it to me for $2000, should I jump on the deal?

Currently the car has no interior except a cracked dash pad, the exterior is straight and rust free, I have yet to go over and pull the codes from the drivetrain to verify if its original. I would like this car but worried about how hard it would be to find and collect NOS parts and a maybe a 302 engine.

Also does anyone know the possible production numbers of the '67 s with that package combo?

I would buy the car. For 2000 bucks, buy it, and if you need to sell it... put it on e-bay or so. 1967 Z28 Camaros are rare and are bringing big bucks.

Re: 1967 RS question

There were only 602 67 Z28's produced, without the RS option added. I am not 100% sure how many Z28/RS 67's there are. If I were you, I would jump all over this deal, hands down, no question in my mind. Good luck! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif

Re: 1967 RS question

Get the VIN and the Cowl Tag info and post if so it can be decoded Also get the engine code and the partial VIN off the engine pad in the same area, If you know the guy and he really has a 67 RS and only wnats 2 grand for it go for it. A plain Jane 67 RS is worth way more than that without it being a Z28. If it is in fact a numbers matchin 67 RS/Z28 you could be taken to jail for stealing it so cheap. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/worship.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif ALso get a hold of Denis here on the site or visit his site as he can give you all the info you need to figure out if its a true 67 Z or not.

Re: 1967 RS question

Thanks for those quick reply's https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif I am hoping he sticks with his price. I was very honest with him on how uncommon of a car this is and he appreciated it and after he had all the info still offered it to me for $2000, I wanted to kiss his feet https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/worship.gif

Here is the cowl plate info that I got:
12C ................. 0242
ST 67-12437.......LOS-15402 BDY
TR 760-2 .........L-2 PNT
WL 2MGS ......... 3LL
5BY

I don't have the engine #'s yet but will be going over to his house hopefully this week to crawl all over this car for all the drivetrain #'s. The only thing that is totally throwing me is the powerglide and 302? Every place I have read says it just wasn't available yet the cowl plate says it https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...s/confused.gif I found a web site that listed 48 z28's were painted that L code, Tahoe Turquoise, in 1967, 254 RS's were painted that L code also..could that be true? How much would this car really be worth when restored back to its full glory? I am extremely excited to maybe have found a real gem.

Re: 1967 RS question

If the body tag info is correct as posted the car is not a Z/28.

Re: 1967 RS question

Something must be in the air...I had a guy from Kansas call me on Friday with a gold RS Z...or so he thought. He just bought it for $3,800 and didn't know it was a Z. I asked him how he found out it was a Z-28 and he replied, "because it has the Z-28 interior" https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif I had him go out to his garage and read me the tag - October built RS. Oh well, better luck next time!

Still get the engine numbers off the pad, you never know what it could be. Roger
