It sickens me to think that our generation may not have the love of liberty or courage to face this challenge now. If not, our children and grandchildren's lives will be in constant jeopardy.

Hard not to forget with the Army Central ID lab just down the street from where I work. We get a C-17 bringing home remains from all Wars worldwide to the lab about every other month. I will say it doesnt matter who (VIP) is on base when they arive, all other functions stop and the remains get top priority/support!! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/flag.gif

I was listening on the radio and heard Pat Tillman ( Played in NFL on Arizona Cardinal) was killed in Afganistan. His name put a face to all the men and women who have made this sacrifice. What also stands out for me is, he made this sacrifice even though he had many options such as a $3.3 million contract to play football. I am not pointing this out because his life is more important, but rather he CHOSE above all else to protect us and our future generations. We are and should be proud of what the men and women of the arm services are doing for all of us.

I would have to agree with you Steve, but I think it was $3.6 millon deal... Plus his younger brother is there with him fighting as well... Are freedom comes with a price and I would like to think we all do are parts as Americans, but some risk everything for it and should be remembered for such actions... In the case with Tillman he had an easy way out but chose to sacrifice his career in order to serve our country and I will never forget that... I myself am employed by the Government, it is my responsability to print maps for our military expecially our troops on the ground. Its kinda scary knowing that if I produce a chart that has the wrong info can cause the loss of lives really gets to me, and I know that I look at each chart several times to make sure the info is correct so our troops have the best availible info I can give them before I let the press go... ...from someone who used one of your maps last year, Mark, "Thank You!!!"...

As for Tillman... it just hurts to see his pictures right now, because for all those that knew him as a football player, this now puts a familiar face to the tradgedy of death and the sacrifices being made over in the Middle East. For me, it reminds me of the faces that I knew personally... ...and will never see again. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/frown.gif

I am greatful that I can help our troops with the quality maps that my fellow pressman and I provide for you guys. Did you have a TOPO or City map??? Mark https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/flag.gif

Re: Never forget

We had a variety of maps, to include shaded relief TOPO's at different scales, and even printed satellite shots of certain areas down to the 1-meter view from an unnamed source. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/naughty.gif Between your maps, and our GPS's, we arrived in Baghdad on schedule (only slightly delayed by a few skirmishes w/ Iraq's military) and didn't take a wrong turn like the ill-fated 507th Maintenance Co. did on April 23rd.

Again, thank you! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif
