1969 Motion Maco Convertible

http://www.makoshark2.com/dcforum/DCForumID3/88.html#3

It has a real Motion nose and has what appears to be a Motion interior, although it is out of the car. It is a 69 with a fresh 427. It is old school. The rear has a big spoiler and monster flairs. It has those old mags. The paint is actually good, with many different shades of stripes ala ghost stripes. The car appears that it was never completely finished.

One point of interest, it has an Orig. factory "Motion" front grille that has never been put together. The car is for sale at 10K and is in North Carolina. If anyone wants it, they can contact Pat Poteat at [email protected]

Isn't the point of the Motion cars that they swapped in engines that were not original to the car? It seems like a waste to separate an engine from a Motion car when you are not dead certain that it is incorrect to the car.

Seeing that in the pic above the aluminum panels are new in the box I think we can assume it is not an original motion car.

When it comes to the Maco's there are about 6 actually "made by Motion" (according to the now dead John Silva) and then there are 10 - 50 (unknown) Motion Maco kits...

There are rare true Motion parts with that car. I'm glad that the parts didn't appear individually for sale on e-bay, like I feared they would.

Why did you let it go so cheap?

It was not mine... somebody out of NC had it.

I would have bought it but... I don't like convertibles... already have enough to do... wouldn't be right to buy it just for the parts that I wanted out of it... not enough room to properly store it... I don't buy cars as an investment... etc.
