Chevrolet Vehicle Records

I'm curious if there have been any further developments regarding the project Jim Mattison was working on... The collection/distribution of Chevrolet vehicle records.

Last comments that I heard indicated that there was some sort of disagreement between Jim and Chevrolet management.

Has any further progress been made on this project?

Regards,

Stan Falenski

I was under the impression the Motown was pretty close to JM. Can you chime in here Motown?

I talked to JM a few weeks ago.
He told me that a new Regime,if you will, came into power and put this project on hold, temporarily.
Sometimes barely moving ahead one step, only to then take 3 steps backwards.
This is not uncommon,as it happens so often over there,he as lost count.People retire or Move on,and new positions are filled, and thus re-evaluated.I know everyone here puts Jims project in High Priority, but the powers that be could barely care less,& that added to the project itself,is what takes up so much Time.
Be Patient.....

If GM was run like the government they would say the records exist but just can not find them! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/smile.gif

Re: Chevrolet Vehicle Records

i work for GM, the government runs smoothly in comparison, all the threads that ive seen about changes in production line confusion and mid year changes and engine dates not matching a certain build frame on never restored cars make total sense to me. the old production rule of first in first out still gets thrown off at times. when you consider several million cars per year across many plants and usually three shifts sometimes things dont add up. late shipments and in house repair to bring small imperfections up to the quality standards explain many of the inconsistencies in vehicles that i see members debate about over and over.
