Re: Mecum Auction in IA
Almost makes you want to cry when you see cars of this caliber being trated like that. Obviously the guy had good taste in cars and cared enough to buy the right ones, you would think he would have stored them a little better

Re: Mecum Auction in IA
Looks like he spent the money on the cars and then couldn't afford a better place to store them.
I wouldn't mind having that problem. |
Re: Mecum Auction in IA
Mr. Flinspach was a member of our local car club and purchased most of these cars years ago. The fact that they were just "used cars" at the time and stored inside speaks well of him. Most of the cars have collision damage, I believe.
There are a number of cars outside that didn't fare as well. Come to think of it, the whole auction is a hoax so don't come - uh, I'll go over and check it out and report back on Monday......... https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/naughty.gif Dave |

Re: Mecum Auction in IA
Has anyone been and seen the cars?
My father is interested in the 442 and is willing to bid on it but there are not nearly enough pictures of anything in this auction. Was wondering more about the condition of the chassis and bottom of the cars. Having sat in a barn for years ....we all know that a moist floor would rust them from the bottom up. The car looks good from the picture shown ...BUT who knows. Any help would be greatly appreciated. |
