Final Flight Home after 50 Years
Recently, a team of personnel left Hawaii in route to North Korea in hopes of finding remains of Korea War veterns. The team was allowed into N Korea and left a few days ago with remains of two service members who will be arriving sometime this week here at Hickam Air Force Base. While at Hickam the Army ID Team will attempt to Identify the remains at which time they are ID'd the familes will be notified and bural place of their choice will be authroized.
Welcome Home Guys, its been to long of a journey. Ill be there awaiting your arrival on the ramp in from of Base Ops. In the pic below the folks lineing the sides of the C-17 are members of the Army Team that recovered the remains. Also notice that the placement of the caskets towards the front of the aircraft. Most dont know it but everything else will get tossed out of the aircraft if need be in an emergancy in the way of cargo before these caskets. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v9...maro/ln05a.jpg |

Thanks for the post, Jeff. It is just amazing to me that remains are still being identified and returned home 50+ years after the fact. Hope time has eased the pain a little for the families involved https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/flag.gif

Time and time again I see the Korean War get overlooked. That really sucks because those guys went through hell. If any of you guys served in that war my hat is off to you.
