Last one for now...
MY FIRST TIME SLIP FROM OCIR DATED JULY 21 1982. Not bad for an 8.5 to 1 compression 402 big block running on UNLEADED gas, through the mufflers on street tires. It only got faster(and more expensive) from there! |
Re: Racing Pics From OCIR in California
Bruce, you're killin' me with these flashbacks. Gold Moroso valve covers and air cleaner on your 402! That is SO 1982. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif

Re: Racing Pics From OCIR in California
Gold Moroso engine dress up kit...brought to you by Super Shops of California....I had to work for a week to afford those! They stayed on the car for a years worth of cruise time. I also added the LS/7 decals to the side of the car(above the side marker lights) for about a month. Sure raised some eyebrows at cruise nights!

Re: Racing Pics From OCIR in California
Yeah, I remember scraping together the money to buy chrome Moroso valve covers for my small-block/4-speed '67 Camaro. I was running solid lifters and the clatter came through those thin valve covers loud and clear. I bought my Moroso covers at Vic Hubbard Speed and Marine in Hayward, CA, and I think I paid $45 for them in 1981.
