This was a fun one!

The "sale" item was a 1971 Ford 302 engine.

Fellow sYc forum member "ED&KEN" (Ken) sent me a PM:

So I contacted the scammer and pretended I was a 3rd bidder and had learned that the first buyer had defaulted. I was offering $2700 for the engine. (Yikes! It is afterall, a FORD! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...emlins/eek.gif)

Anyway, Ken and I started baiting him from our own ends and strung him along for a week.

Ken was delayed in sending $$ due to rectal problems, whereas I was delayed when I was hit by an errantly-tossed beer bottle after the final out of the #4 World Series game in St. Louis. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...emlins/eek.gif
On top of that, when I awoke in the hospital, my pants were undone!

Ken sent off his bogus Western Union receipt for $3K yesterday, while I waited until today. This way we'd have him running for two days straight!

But on top of this, I sent him an intentionally blurred version of the WU-Xfer so he couldn't read it. Now he'll have to wait one more day while I transfer a readable version.
The new version of the (attached) Western Union-Xfer will be in TIFF format - at about 4 MEGS. This will ensure that he spends a good half hour downloading the file in his filthy, stinking rathole Internet cafe. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/naughty.gif
