getting high

I am going to buy a 4 post lift for my home garage. The ceilings are 12 feet high. Any thoughts on manufacturer, construction, 120 vs 220, safety, etc would be appreciated.

My Superior is good. No reason to go with 240 that I know of. The elec. motor is pretty small. Try to get in on a group purchase.

I have a superior that I have had since 97. It is 120 volts and works fine. You will be fine with 12 foot ceilings unless you plan to put 4wd pickups on it. My 69camaro requires about 11'5". The key thing is knowning your plans. Most of these things are for storage only. If you plan to actually work under it be sure to spent the extra $ on one built alittle stronger. Cheaper is not always better.
Good Luck!

Have a couple of Eagle lifts...pretty good stuff...there was a whole thread about lifts a while back...maybe someone can dig it up...

Is THIS the thread, Bob...?

It's weird this should come up...one of our buddies here in town (Johnny) that helps us with our cars, SCR, etc., is finishing his shop and is looking for a lift. He told me yesterday he had a guy quote him like $1900(?) a couple weeks back (a rotary I believe?), but when he called & told him to bring it last week, the price had jumped to over 3-grand. I thought the original price sounded too cheap anyway, but maybe I need to get him online and get him to read some of these threads...

If you have kids, get one with a key lock to shut off the power when not in use. Roger

I am in the market for one or two drive on lifts and one two post lift. I have 3 inground old style globe hydralic lifts out of a old service station that I would trade or sell.

Perhaps we could all go together and buy as a group? $1800 is the best price I got so far out of Texas. Plus shipping of $200.

How high do the ceilings need to be to use a lift? My ceiling is only 9' high.

I have a Backyard Buddy with 220 volt that I like. James...9' is kinda low. Stand next to your car and measure how high in the air it would have to be for you to walk under it.

I would be interested in a group purchase. Who makes the $1800 lift in Texas?
