Re: "Must have" Chevelle Books?
Mike Muellers 1993 "Chevelle 1964-1972",is pretty good,as well as his,1995 "Chevelle Buyers guide".But they are mostly pix,and HP facts, nothing much beyond that.
Paul Herds 1992 book,"Chevelle SS Restoration Guide" isn't very accurate,& take its info with a grain of salt. I don't think there is one "all Chevelle questions answered" book. You have to read them all and sift seperate the facts from the here say. Reading Old Car mags from the 60's-70's that Feature Chevelles in them is a good source too. I thought I heard at SCR7 that there is going to be a Chevelle Book coming out soon, but I can't confirm that. Can anyone else here help with that? If it's true,it's long over due... Why the sudden interest? |

Thanks Mr70. I'll buy them all I guess https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif Interest? What interest? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/wink.gif My first car was a '70 Chevelle, so maybe it's time to get another...with just a little more power than the 307 powerglide I had back then https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ins/3gears.gif

Believe the add'l book you might be trying to recall is titled Chevelle SS 1964-1972, A Muscle Car Source Book. The author is Jeffrey Steffes. It was published this year. It is available via Amazon.

Re: "Must have" Chevelle Books?
That's not the book I was referring to.
There was a gentleman taking pictures of DC's Chevelle @ SCR7 & said he was compiling information to write a Very detailed book about these cars.It would not be in Stores for at least 18 months,I thought he said. |
Re: "Must have" Chevelle Books?
Rick,
The fellow's name is Jim Schild. He was gathering photos and info for the "Chevelle" book while at SCR7. If I remember correctly he also shot Mark Hassett's car. (?) His past works have been in the MOPAR field but was contacted by the publisher to do a book on the Chevelle, and took the assignment. He is associated with "The Auto Review" and told me up front he had a lot to learn about Bowties! As you mentioned, I wouldn't expect to see this available until late 2005 or early 2006. DC |
