AMC Muscle - The next hot ones?
 

Went to an auction Sat. Two 70 AMX's, 390, 4spd, 16k and 38k orig miles, orig paint, etc. but poor storage. Still nice cars. $22k and $14k.

The real shocker was a 69 Javelin SST, 390, 4 spd, 5600 actual mi., orig owner, orig tires, paint - very near mint but underside pretty rusty (surface) from sitting for 35 years in Iowa extremes (-20 to 130+ in a garage). $24k and worth it (I was in it at $23900, so I MUST think so!).

The SST books at $12k in number 1 condition.

I believe the AMC's may appreciate at a little faster rate now that the hot Camaros and Chevelles are out of the reach of so many. You really can't fake them as the VIN is engine specific and much is known about prod. numbers, etc. A great site is www.planethoustonamx.com

I think AMCs still have a ways to go. The Buicks and Oldses are catching up to the Camaros right now. AMC is last in the pecking order.
