1965 L-79 Chevelle

Want a documented L-79 65 Chevelle, prefer 300 deluxe, but will consider all body styles, no rust original drivetrain. Cash waiting for right documented car. Thanks,Kevin DeWitte 480-816-1996 Phoenix

I used to drag race with a guy back in the day who had a 65 Malibu SS with the 327/350hp motor. We raced at Dover Drag Strip(upstate NY) He won almost every week in stock eliminator. The car was super fast! It was a maroon color, don't know the name. Always loved that car...his sister was a really hot blonde, but that's another story. Good luck, hope you find your Chevelle.

Tom -We used to race a 65 300 deluxe 2 dr sedan, which is exactly why I want one now. I like your taste in cars, we have 2 Berger cars, the white COPO I bought new, and a 2000 car #1. If I can't find the 65 my 2nd choice is a L78 Nova, prefer a 68. Kevin

Kevin, how about filling out your profile??? The 65 Chevelles with the L79 motor are hard to find, especially a 300 Deluxe. Maybe building a clone for fun is an option. As for L78 Novas they are a weakness with me, that and redheads. The 68 is the rarest of all the BB Novas, Only 667 L78 cars were made and I believe 50 of those were the Gibb COPO cars with the TH400. I have a #'s 68 in Sequoia Green with Ash Gold interior, bench seat 4spd. 68's are a special breed, good luck in your search and happy holidays. TW

68's are one of kind. Here are some highlights:
1. First year of the new body style. Last year to be called Chevy 2/Nova
2. Dash board is unique, similar to camaro with the ignition key on the dash.
3. Many interior trim pieces are 68 only items: kick panels, dash items, seats, handle positions on the doors, steering wheels.
4. Exterior: Super Sport emblem on bottom of front fenders.
5. First year for the BB motor in a Nova. Gibb cars got the TH400.
6. There are dozens of other small trim and mechanical parts that are 68 only items.

So if you want a challenge finding parts, buy a 68!!
