70 Camaro 500001
This is the car that was tested by Smokey Yunick. Did this car ever surface?

Re: 70 Camaro 500001
I believe that is the car that David Toms owns. He deals in vintage Trans Am cars. I know he bought it from Smokeys shop and it appeared to have been equiped with a big block at one time.

Yes Dave has the car; I have not heard anything about the progress on it.
It is supposed to be the Mystery LS6 car…. Mark L |

I was looking through the Arizona Republic (Phoenix newspaper)car want ads today (prior to Barrett Jackson the section triples in size)...and the ad I have saved as an attachment caught my eye.
I was going to post a question on here about it, but it's already been done. If this is "Dave's" car...then Dave is selling it! Bruce |
Re: 70 Camaro 500001
I remember talking to Dave Tom about this car, several years ago. Yes, it was given to Smokey Yunick as a donor to make into a race car. However, my recollection of it is that based on the complete vin number, it started life as a six-cylinder Camaro.

Re: 70 Camaro 500001
The reason I asked this question is because I found the car for sale in an old magazine I was looking thru. Just wondered what became of it. Thanks for the info.

Re: 70 Camaro 500001
Yep...there's 18 columns with around 50 ads per column...which makes for around 900 ads just like the one I posted. All thanks to Barrett jackson coming up.
In fact click HERE and choose "search all automotive ads" then choose 1410-Classic Cars to see them all! Anybody looking for something other than the 70 Camaro 500001? I got that covered already! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif Bruce |
Re: 70 Camaro 500001
I thought I had heard that car had 4 wheel discs installed.
