New Paint Job

I have a friend with a #'s matching X77 Z/28, original drivetrain, and almost ready to be painted.
Which would be better, base coat/clear coat, or original type paint? He has the access to the original paint, but wants to know what the good news/bad news points are when he puts it up for sale after painting it. Either way is OK with him.
Thanks for your help.

Basecoat / clearcoat can have a very deep and attractive finish, but it does not look like the original. However, I don't think you have to use original lacquer to achieve a single stage finish that looks much more like an original paint job than basecoat / clearcoat does.

Re: New Paint Job

All cars are going to need some sort of paint repair someday. Short of an all over repaint, the beauty of B/C C/C is the ease of repair and the ability to blend the paint. I personally would prefer it to original on a car I was going to buy just for this reason.
