Need 2 magazines - help!
 

I am looking for the following 2 magazines:

Sports Car Graphic, October 1965

Road Test , May, 1966

Anybody have these taking up space and want to sell them?

Anybody know a good source for vintage magazines ?

In case anybody has cleaned out their garage and found a secret stash of old car mags, I am still looking for both of these issues! If anybody has any ideas, please let me know. One of my cars is in them and I'd really like to have them to see how it looked when it was nearly new!

Hi Ed,
My 65 Shelby GT350- s/n 249. It was the Sports Car Graphic test car and in Road Test magazine when High Performance Motors used it for a road rallye in Mexico... I think the article was called "Shelby's GT-350 as a Rally Car" ???

I don't know if it was in any other mags, these two I know for sure, unless I see the s/n tag in another I'd have to assume it is a different car.... https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...s/confused.gif

Reprints of at least one of those articles are in Brooklands Books "Shelby Mustang Muscle Portfolio 1965-1970" ISBN 1 85520 1623. (There are at least two versions of this book I've seen, the other one has fewer reprints-make sure you get the ISBN I've listed here.) The Road Test article is there, as I'm looking at the Rally car writeup on page 44 as I type this. The Sports Car Graphic reprints are listed as being from June and July of '65, and involve their "10,000 mile road test" of the '65 GT-350. They say at the end of the second article that they ordered their own GT-350 at the end of the test, so maybe they wrote their car up after they got it?

The book is a great resource for period info on the '65/'66 cars, including a couple of articles on factory supercharged '66 cars, which are hard to find info on. Also a neat article on drag prepping early GT-350's via Les Ritchey's shop. (Day 2 and then some for those of you so inclined).
