realistic price for 70 Z-28
 

Anyone with knowlege of these cars care to comment on what is a fair price for a body off restored NOM 70 Z-28 t400 car with docs?

Complete as orig.,with all pollution stuff, heads,manifolds,alt orig,some orig eng parts rest are correct casting numbers, close dates etc., with the exception of exhaust from the manifolds back is flowmaster system with the transverse muffler, and goodyear radials.
z-21, vf3, c50, citrus with blk std. int. blk stripes (as orig equipped)

There is such a wide range of prices its hard to say what is realistic without giving it away.

There's a Forest Green RS with matching numbers that has a Buy-it now price of $24,900. I've seen 4-spd cars listed for well over $30,000; I can't beleive the T-400 would hurt the value so much but, apparently, it does.

Yes, its odd the automatic hurts the value considering they are 4 times as rare as the 4-spd .
In terms of collectability, the auto is much rarer.

Some people, and perhaps rightly so, depending on how you look at it, consider a 4 spd a necessary ingredient in a Z-28. I think its a carryover of 1st gen thinking on the Z's, but I like 4 spds and auto's.

I am trying to not gauge the price so much using ebay, as a lot of those cars haven't been particularly well restored and the completeness is lacking.
Some have been (debatably) clones.
Also not many have GM documentation as I do.
What hurts my car price wise is the non-original to car block.

It's very hard to judge and put a price on it without seeing the car in person or even some good quality pictures. You're right the NOM hurts the car but I would think it could be worth $22-25k range. Again this is based on not seeing the car. If the car was a complete numbers car and in pristine condition you are looking into the $30K range or more depending on condition, rarity of options, etc.

These cars have seen a pretty good increase in value the last couple of years and can be expected to climb.

I realise its easier with pictures or seeing the car in person.
The car is getting its stripes applied later this week,
and is at the body shop in preparation for that and a wetsand/polish.
When I get it back I can post pics,that would probably help.

I am going to agree and disagree. Not all second gen Camaros are going to bring big money. Only one in my opinion and that is the 1970 L78 Camaro. With only 600 copies made it should be the premier second gen to own.

When I say not yet I mean today, maybe in few years they will demand bigger dollars. It will happen.
