grump lump question

finally finished getting the scoop installed on my hood today and have a question.i know there was a few different styles of the grump lump but did they all have a small opening on the front.i've seen a couple with a 1" wide opening the width of the front panel of the scoop.i guess this was done to get air to the front carb of a tunnel ram.on mine i've got a an outline of an opening about 2" from the top but haven't cut it out yet. so what looks better on the front having an opening or not. my scoop looks identical to the august feature car "Caleb & Frank Arone's 69 camaro" and it looks really good without that opening https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ins/3gears.gif

The one on Caleb's car is not a grump lump. It was made by Moroso and they just called it a tunnel ram scoop. Notice the back end how it dips down and the sides that curve upward.

The grumpy lump was available with or without the front opening. The grump lump slope on the back is straight as well as the sides. Yes, They do go upward at an angle but they are straight. The on on my Mustang is a 7" grump lump made by A&A
