1969 big block starter 418 wanted dated for my car

I need the 418 starter for a third week build date of January of 1969. Either one rebuilt ready to go or one good core to have rebuilt and painted. Would prefer a late November or December of 1968 or early January of 1969.

Thankyou, I found one that is in the process of being rebuilt. Just curious what you would want for yours and does it need redone or is it turnkey? I might know of somebody who could use it.

Dennis I usually get $250.00 for a rebuilt one. It has the case iron three bolt pattern housing on it and will be ready to install. Thanks for the reply.

Should the starter be dated with the engine or before the cars actual build date?
My engine is a November build and the car is June. And yes it is the original engine.

Hi Mark, you will have to ask someone smarter that me on that question. I just deal in alternators and starters and I just go by their dates. Sorry I can't help you. tks Peyden

My understanding from the Nova world is the starter was installed at the assembly plant(eg:Willow Run) and therefore could be dated later than the engine. Others may have more info..

Tonawanda didn't put the starter motors on.
They were attached at the assembly plant of the Vehicle when they were dressed out with other components.
Use the Vehicles cowl tag date as the reference point for the starter motor date.
Go before it,not beyond it.
