TH700

I am looking for some help out there, please. I am wanting to use the stock horseshoe shifter in my 69 camaro, but want to put a TH700 in it. I have talked with a few trans guys and they say the only way to do it would not allow me to put it in 1st gear manually. I have seen a couple powerglide to TH700 shifter conversion kits, but not sure if this would solve the problem. Anyone have any experience with this out there? Your opinion would be greatly appreciate. Thank you in advance!

ive got a p/g shifter that was modified to work with a th-350, i can see if there is any additioanl travel to allow for another notch to be cut. seems like the cable and shifter would have to be allowed to drop down one more notch for this to work, may have to go to an aftermarket cable. pm me ill take a look @ it.

Check with Shiftworks......I have a 700R4 in one of my cars and have one of their floorshift kits in it....detent plate, Shift Indicator Lens , new brackets, and shifter cable........they also have a correct ratio adaptor to bolt onto the carb......this is Very Important as is the adjustment of the TV cable

Hope this helps

Ditto for Shiftworks, I put their setup in my 65 Malibu SS and the floor shift worked perfectly. They also sold a replacement glass for the indicator that shows all the gears.

Double dittos on the importance of correct adjustment of the throttle velocity (TV) cable...
