Does anyone here own this COPO???

I was contacted by a gentleman who has an engine out of a COPO Camaro. He would like to see this engine reunited with the car it came in. The codes are T0512MN 19N648076. . If you have any info, please contact me. Thanks.

Hopefully this engine doesn't exist again as a "restoration motor"? ~ Pete

I've heard scams going on worded like that. Why would he care? He's probably talked to the guy to make sure he didn't blow the original motor or know where it is and stamps one out. Then says I know where it is. I smell FISH. Come on! How gullable can you be?

I guess pretty gullable, as the pics I saw of the engine were pretty dead on. And I know a couple of knowledgeable folks from here who have made nice offers for the engine, who I guess they are as gullable as me. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/naughty.gif Only time will tell.

The picture of the deck stamp looked like it had not been tampered with. Looks real to me . IMO
I didn't see the VIN.

If it was a restamp ( I'M NOT SAYING IT IS ), it would be easy to tell on an unassembled engine. It is as easy to spot a 2 to 4 bolt switch.

As with any purchase, the buyer should inspect and be satisfied with the part before purchase.

I also have a COPO motor that I would like to see reunited to the car. Why would I care? I guess because I believe it is the right thing to do. The numbers on the engine I have are T0425MN 19N640348 (By oil filter) I would be happy to supply pics to anyone. I obtained the engine when I was trying to trade back for my original engine. Unfortunately, the guy with my original engine does not share my passion for reuniting an original engine with the car.

Tom,
In the mid 70's I owned this car. Of course I would love to be reunited with it but it sounds like it has been separated from its engine. Do you know who possesses the engine now? Or what part of the country it was in when located? I am from Texas (Dallas/Ft. Worth). Thanks for your help.
