Help researching proper strip color
I am restoring a '69 Pontiac 2+2 427/390, which was built only in Canada at the Oshawa plant. 2+2 production stopped in the US after 1967.
The car is black with a white top; I'm trying to determine what the correct stripe color would be. I have the parts book, and Argent Silver or White were available (as well as other colors, but those are the one's I'd think would apply). Can I infer anything about stripe color determination on other models, like the Camaro? |
Re: Help researching proper strip color
Have you received the GM of Canada paperwork? It will often identify the trim or stripe color.

Re: Help researching proper strip color
I would say it should be white...and that would look best if the Canada doc doesn't say.

Re: Help researching proper strip color
Unfortunately this is a clone I'm builing, so didn't originally have a stripe. I have (had, actually, since I sold it) a '69 2+2 convertible that was red, and it had a black stripe, but I've never seen a photo of a black car with the original stripe...
