trim tag question

I was wondering about the difference in trim tags on the early build '69 Camaros. I was just looking at a rollin chassis X11 car on ebay (01A build long GM disclaimer at bottom of tag and vin matches the body). That car has the square tag whereas my 01C X44 has a more rectangular tag (less the GM long winded disclaimer). Anyone else have a 01 build car with the same scenario?

Its fine, its an original tag, and matches up with the VIN just fine.

Mark, I know the numbers match for that X11 car. I was wondering if anyone had noticed the difference in the trim tags (square vs rectangular) on 01 build cars. Maybe I shoulda tried to be more clearer. Sorry 'bout that.

The early Norwood trim tags (rectangular) which are identical to the LA cars was used till late November I believe..

Post a pic of your tag, if you don't mind. Can't be an LA tag if it has an X44 code.

I have an early trim tag Norwood (11D) it is rectangular with no X codes. I believe early December they changed.

Re: trim tag question

The tag shape in the picture is the only one Norwood used from early December of 68 until the end of production in November of 69 on all of the production Camaros, and on the Firebirds when Loring shutdown in early 69. Beleive it also continued to be the only style of tag used at Norwood well into the 70's on the Camaro.

If your tag is missing the GM legal blurb stuff on the bottom, maybe you have some kind of engineering vehicle that was never intended to leave GM's property.
