Dishonest on YENKO LS6 ENGINE!!

So I have this boat, engine, and motor for sale on E-bay. This guy with (at that time) zero feedback contacts me to buy it now. We agree on the price of $2,500 and he agrees to the rest of the terms and conditions in the listing. $1,000 deposit in 5 business days, removal of trailer/boat by Jan. 31st!! I'm not making this up, it is fact. I have him become high bidder on it, and end the auction to highest bidder. So 5 business days go by. No deposit. & go by - no deposit. I e-mail the buyer and he says that yes indeed $1,000 is on it's way. 10 Business days later, a deposit arrives for $500?? And he notifies us that because he is in CANADA that it will be difficult for him to have it all removed by Jan 31st. So a zero feedback bidder has failed to meet all 3 terms and conditions in the contract. I return the partial deposit, open a dispute with e-bay (aftrer he opens one for item not received) I win, he loses. I relist. Now a guy is posting on YENKO how he got screwed, how I was greedy, how I am such a bad person - after admitting in his YENKO posting that he only sent half a deposit. I get all these people that want to see me sued - to some who want to break my legs!! I think I did what any other person would do when they have an agreement and it is broken! I want to know what you all think. Was I wrong, should I have taken the $500 even though I stated and needed the $1,000! Maybe I should have taken the deposit, then allowed him to low-ball me on the price some more. Oh yeah, I have the e-mail that said he won the auction for a little over a thousand on E-bay and was holding me to that. (FORGOT TO MENTION THAT DID HE)!! So I guess that now that the whole story is out, and my side is told, Who is right. WHAT WOULD YOU HAVE DONE!!

I do own this boat, trailer, and motor free and clear! I purchased this and did all the legal stuff. I have a title for the trailer from the DMV, and I had to go to Fish and Game to get a title for the boat. No other person in the world has any legal right or claim to any of it. I returned the previous winners partial deposit, and I have checked with both E-bay, and a lawyer. He has no legal right or claim to any of this. Thanks for asking.
