Judging(pun intended https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/naughty.gif) from the talk on the Pontiac board the car is owned by a very well known GTO collector and the real deal. Word over there is that the top bidders are legit as well. Looks as though this car could bring ALL THE MONEY https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/worship.gif

It passed my budget a few decimal places ago but should be fun to watch.

Just for reference...

the black/sandlewood sister to this car just went through RM/Boca at $405,000 this past weekend, real NICE car, Peter from Legendary took it I believe.... wierd bidding scene...stalled early around 200k, then took off to 400k, stalled at 400k for like f_o_r_e_v_e_r, then reserve was abruptly dropped, jumped another 5k, and whammo it was done. Word outside was that it was a staged deal to run up the value's... who really know's... damm nice car though..

The car at RM was a Ram Air 4 car.

OK Pontiac Fans..who's right?

Got a twin being sold for nearly 400K here and claims its a real 4-speed.

1970 Judge 455 HO Convertible

1970 PONTIAC GTO, 455 HO Convertible, 1 of only 3, 4 spd., ac converts produced, 4 spd., ac, power steering, pdb, Rally gauges, hood tach, power seats, power windows, tilt, tint, am-fm, smog pump, posi, decor group, more, California car, red/red/black, fresh motor rebuild, matching #'s, PHS, window sticker, super rare, nice car with zero miles on original motor, $399,000, 215-348-0923, www.customclassicgto.com. -rp
Price: $399000.00
Location: Doylestown, PA

Seller on E-bay:
"You are bidding on the RAREST GTO judge convertible. This is 1 of only 3 made with the 455 H/O! All three were automatics as no 4 speed H/O convertibles were made."

I suspect both cars are superb. Don't mistake my post as an attempt to debase either the individuls (sellers) or the two cars...
But hey, for nearly 400K you kinda want some accuracy....heck, for a hundred grand one should expect some factual data on a car.

Agree Charlie - Gary Cave is a bonified guru...hands down. No dispute. I did a double take with both making claims of PHS documentation. But I figured since somebody around here was showing interest (ahhhemm) it would be worth the notice. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif
