Given the HUGE difference in EBAY values, has anybody had Non Smog 178/879 exh manifolds drilled and tapped for smog...I wouldnt think a decent machine shop would have too much trouble with this ???????

I have it done from time to time and almost prefer it since I can control the depth as I don't bore them completely through plus then I don't have to mess with exhaust heat coming up through the tubes. It normally costs me about $100 a set to have drilled and tapped.

One of our Sponsors,D&R Classic,sells this in reproduction in both Smog & non Smog-#Z00396A.
The #178 P/S is the easy side to find,it's the #879 D/S for 1970 + applications that's not being reproduced properly.
