BE rear found on 69Z??
I called a guy about a 69Z for sale and had him read off all the numbers. He claims he is the second owner and has had this car since 1971 and he bought it from his buddy and the car is 100 percent original. Its an X33 02B 72-B car.. He said the rear code was BE...how could this be? car is from NY..any ideas? could you order a BE in a Z/28 through central production? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/hmmm.gif

Just a thought because I have done this.
Could you maybe have heard him over the phone wrong? Maybe he said "BV" which is a 4:10 Posi.,or another similar sounding code. |

Buy the car, sell the rearend, replace it with the correct one and pay off a portion of your investment. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif
Just a humorous thought. Rick |

Sometimes this hobby is really nutty! |

Re: BE rear found on 69Z??
Sam, I wonder if it was just a timing thing with supply and demand. A 4.10 posi rear is a 4.10 posi rear to the guy on the assembly line. I'm sure the paperwork would have shown a "BV" rear but maybe the guy couldn't locate one quickly so he grabbed a "BE" rear. I'm just guessing, but who knows. It could have been a warranty replacement as well. So where do you plan to store all these 69 Z28's? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif
