Website feedback needed please

Hi all;

I've made some changes to my webpage, plus I've added a few things as well trying to make it a little less "boring" and a little more informative. I'm looking to step up to a better website soon and I'd like to have things ironed out as well as possible beforehand.

The link is in my signature below.

I'd really appreciate some feedback and/or suggestions if y'all don't mind. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif

I suggest you lose that bigass advertising banner that says "I'm too cheap to pay Yahoo the $10 to lose the banner". It takes away from a website advertising thousand-dollar carburetors.

Eric...The site looks good. I see your competition is advertising in the Yahoo banner thing. If it is only 10 bucks to make it go away, I will pay it. You sold me a carb at a very good price a couple of years back. A little pay back from me!

Obviously I failed to address one of the key points---getting away from the banner ads. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/crazy.gif

My main concern was/is the layout and the backgrounds. This is the first time I've built/designed a website myself. My original webpage (from 2+ years ago) was designed by someone else and was a total nightmare to update and maintain. As such, this is a learning curve for me, and I want to make it as appealing and user-friendly as I can.

Thanks to those who've replied so far.

I just signed up for a premium website.

It'll take a few days to get it set up.

Eric...another small suggestion...where it says "Click here for page 2"...possibly put that in yellow...as the blue gets "lost" a bit on the dark background.

Other than that...I like it! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif

Well, they got my site up a little quicker than I'd anticipated, and I spent the better part of the night setting things up again. The link in my signature will now take you to the banner-free version of my website. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif

I would like some suggestions or ideas on things you would like to see on the site...maybe something like a "tech tips" page, something along those lines?

I know I need to polish up the click-through links, I'm just trying to figure out a good way to change them. I also changed some of the backgrounds in an attempt to make things a little easier on the eyes.

As a side-note...

I do have one thing planned for the website, but I can't go into too much detail just yet. All I can say for now is it has to do with what should be a rather interesting engine build-up. We'll know for sure when it comes off the dyno. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/naughty.gif

And that's all I've got to say `bout that. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/wink.gif

Looks good. I would put your email link at the top of the page. On my screen at work, I have to scroll down to find the link.
