finding the thread on adjusting Solid lifter cams
can anybody connect me to that long thread about adjusting the valves on a BB or SB chevy solid cam.? Seem to recall a slightly different method than factory. Thanks much SULLY

The best one is the one on the CRG site... it works with all mechanical lifter chevrolets.

Sully: it's your business, but if you're settin' em on those L78s, here is THE BEST way to do it...buy a cheap *bump* button for your starter, and you can go from valve-to-valve simply and more importantly quickly...
Set the intake as the exhaust opens... Set the exhaust as the intake closes... |

Rob is right--the old "EO - IC" method (exhaust opening, intake closing) is the best way IMO and takes the memorization out of the process! Good luck.

[/ QUOTE ] It may work with a stock L78 but won't work with a stock 302, the lifters are still on the ramps because of the overlap... The CRG method will work on any solid lifter Chevrolet. |
