Finally found my correct dated coded L78 assembly!
1 Attachment(s)
Well I have been looking for some time now for a correct date coded L78 block for my 68 L78 nova. A friend of mine called me and gave me a leed on a 68 L78 short block assembly. I just picked it up this past weekend. Still standard bore with original 11/1 pistons and rods, 6223 crank, head bolts, and the 8 inch balancer. The guy I bought it of off said it only has like 30,000 miles on it. Back in the early 70's the motor was decked why he doesn't know. It has a casting date of B-26-68. He does have the 840 heads from the motor but they are on his race car. He plans on changing them next winter, so I told him to keep me in mind. Some times it just does pay off to wait for that perfect deal. I can't wait to get it into the car. My 396 I have in it now runs real strong. I am looking forward to driving a true L78 car.
