1974 Motion Equipped Vega
1974 Motion Equipped Vega.
This car is believed to possibly be a true Motion Conversion car especially by some who were involved with locating the car years ago, but their are no supporting docs, other than the claim of the owner who had the car in its unrestored/primered state siting in the back of a barn in Florida, that it was a "Motion Built Vega". Joel Rosen was contacted and paid, but has stated that he did not have any records regarding this specific car, at the time and that he did build some just like it in the Mid to late 70s. I purchased the car from an sYc member and sold it to another member, a while back. We now have it on consignment/for sale. I did a bit of research on the car and found that it had a complete Don Hardy V8 Vega kit including the 12 bolt rear. Both Joel and Don confirmed that he built kits for Joel and that Joel Marketed/sold them as Motion kits, as well as having used them in some Motion conversions. The Fiberglass ZL1 Flairs and Kit which were on the car when found were also used by Motion. I was told that there were remnants of a White stripe under the primer on top of the original paint which may or may not have been the remnants of the trade Mark Motion Paint Scheme. The car was also found with trade mark vertical slotted tail lights as well as 6 original Motion Emblems in the Glove box. (Possibly removed for paint?). The car also had Vintage Anson steel Cragar Style Wheels. Skinny Front Runners and 15x10s on the rear. It now has Cragars. It has the Don Hardy/Motion 5 Lug disc brake kit. A 350ci Bored and Stroked to a stump pulling 377 ci. A B&M TH400 trans and 4.56 gears in the 12 Bolt Hardy/Motion Rear. Hence we are selling the car as "Motion Equipped" and not a clone as I have no info that the car was cloned and may at least have been one of the many Cataloge V8 Vegas built back in the day. Info is that the car came from Texas as new and ended up in Florida, where it was found. The car is a Super clean and vitrtually rust Free Vega. I have to Check the trim tag but I believe that the original color were Blue exterior with a white interior, now black. $38,500.00 |

Re: 1974 Motion Equipped Vega
I know we're talking a few years later but wasn't Pos-A-Traction their tire of choice for the early Camaros & Chevelles?

Re: 1974 Motion Equipped Vega
"Torque" something! I'm doing research now. I know someone who has a set on his '65 Impala. Just talked with him and he's going to let me know soon. Might even have some pix. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/wink.gif
Pos-A-Traction tires, made by Inglewood. Maybe we should move this to a new thread so we don't hijack the Vega discussion? |
